Aravind is the largest, and widely considered to be one of the most productive eye care systems in the world, seeing approximately 1.4 million patients a year, and performing about 200,000 cataract surgeries annually, over two-thirds of which are offered free of charge for those unable to pay. Muhammad Yunus acclaimed Aravind as an organization which “reveals the power of a model that combines business discipline with compassion.”

Comprehensive Rural health project, jamkhed

CRHP has been working among the rural poor and marginalized for the past 45 years. Pioneering a comprehensive approach to community-based primary healthcare (also known as the Jamkhed Model), CRHP has been a leader in public health and development in rural communities in India and around the world.
